This whole idea of the cycle and raising money and awareness for cancer and Alzheimer’s came to us after a few beers in the pub. (Aren’t all good ideas starting in the pub?!)

To make the whole trip mean more then just a physical achievement, the idea of doing it for a good cause came up.

As both of us had struggles with either one of these illnesses in our own family’s it was kind of a logical decision to fundraise for these Charities.

The problem with both illnesses is, that even now we still can’t find a cure to either of these issues.

And still to many people and family’s have to suffer from loss and the emotional stress which both paths of the illness bring.

As we already said, we will be cycling from London to Paris in order to raise awareness via our social media platforms.

We hope that with our cycle we be able to raise funds to donate and support both Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Research UK. As very little donation will help fund the fight against these illnesses.

You can help us out by donating via this page. With every pound we be getting closer to a world in which we understand Cancer and Alzheimer’s better and maybe we will see one day a cure for these illnesses.

We will keep updating our social media page on Facebook TheLifeCycle (@TheLifeCycle2018) about our progress in training and on the road to Paris.

Thanks for helping!

On Thursday 16th August we will drive to Crystal Palace, London early in the morning, where Max and I will cycle 85km to Newhaven ferry port, and Alex, our support driver will meet us there. This will be our longest day in the saddle with the added pressure of not knowing the route – Google maps to the rescue – and having to be there in time for the ferry at 1730.

Having landed in France we will continue 10km to our first campsite.

Day 2 – Dieppe to Forges-Les-Eaux: We will journey southeast on a shorter ride of 55km to camp in Forges-Les-Eaux.

Day 3 – Will either be a rest day or if we are feeling capable we may continue onwards.

The next leg of the journey takes us from Forges-Les-Eaux to Pontiose is 84km.

The final day: Pontiose to Paris is a mere 30km.
